I met with my oncologist today; love that woman! My blood counts are phenomenal, she’s really pleased with how well my body bounces back after the chemo and got a kick out of me dressing up my port as a joke!

We also talked about how incredibly painful this last round was and will be lowering the dosage of Neulasta since my blood counts are so good and she feels that I’m strong enough and my body is responsive enough to have a lower dose. She’s also going to lower my steroid dosage a smidge too since I’m not having any problems maintaining my weight and have my nausea under control (thank you Reed’s Ginger Beer and chews).

My mom leaves tomorrow….it’s hard to believe that 3 weeks have already passed since she arrived; it’s been great having her here, especially with how painful this last round was! My house is clean, the laundry is done, my freezer is packed and she even found time to teach the bird a couple new phrases and did some clicker training with the dogs…all while taking care of me, running me to appointments and running my daughter around. My mom is truly a super hero! Hopefully she can come back out in December while I’m doing my weekly chemo…maybe if I’m really good Santa will grant my wish lol

My 4th and final double round of chemo is scheduled for November 7th and 8th, then I’ll get 3 weeks off before starting 12 weeks of weekly chemo rounds. It’s still up in the air as to whether I’ll be doing Neupogen injections (lesser form of Neulasta) because even though I am responding well to chemo, my oncologist was quick to remind me that I do have metastatic cancer and we still need to be aggressive with the fight.

Much love and appreciation to all for the continued prayers, love and support!
